Custom Swimwear has been helping women of all sizes find confidence in swimwear for over four decades. Originally known as Exelnt Designs, the company was founded with one clear mission: to take the frustration out of swimwear shopping by offering suits that actually fit—no matter your shape, size, or age.
In May of 2024, Bravo intimates, Michigan’s leading bra fitting and lingerie destination since 2001, acquired Custom Swimwear with a shared commitment to expert fit, personalized service, and helping women feel their best. With the merger, we’ve combined over 60 years of fitting expertise and now offer the most comprehensive bra and swimwear fitting experience in the Midwest—possibly the whole US.
What We Do
We’re not your standard off-the-rack swimwear shop. We fit you by your bra cup size (A–K) and dress size (0–30), then help you find the swimsuit that suits your body, your lifestyle, and your taste. We carry hundreds of sample suits in-store—yes, you get to try before you order!—and our stylists are trained to help you choose a style that complements your proportions, highlights your shape, and makes you feel confident poolside or beachside.
Once the fit is just right, we help you select a fabric that flatters your skin tone and personal style. Every suit is made in-house using high-quality materials like swimwear fabric (80% polyester / 20% Lycra) and our proprietary long-lasting elastics—the “bones” of your suit. These suits are known to last up to 10 years when cared for properly. Most importantly, they stay in place no matter the activity—whether you’re swimming, running, or chasing kids at the beach.
Beyond Custom Swimwear
While our in-house custom swimwear is our specialty, we also stock an ever-changing collection of high-quality suits from top bra-sized swimwear brands like Freya, Fantasie, Elomi, Panache, and Miraclesuit. These options allow many customers to shop and walk out same-day with a beautiful, supportive suit—no wait required.

We recommend booking an appointment for a dedicated stylist or try-on room. This ensures there is a room available for you, especially during our busy season, February through August.
We are proud to be a destination for women who have been underserved by traditional retailers—those with full busts, long torsos, surgical needs, or simply looking for a flattering, long-lasting suit. Our in-house team of Certified Master Bra Fitters and Swim Stylists are passionate about getting you fitted right the first time.

Can’t visit us in person? We offer virtual consultations appointments, long-distance ordering, and have an experienced team ready to help you find the perfect fit from afar. Many of our clients have had their favorite suits remade or tweaked season after season—even if they now live in another state or country.
